Job Summary:

The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business operations, market trends, and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement, support strategic initiatives, and provide actionable insights across various departments. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, concise, and impactful recommendations for management.

Qualifications:

  • B.E/B. Tech in Electrical, Mechanical or Renewables. MBA / PGDM would be a plus.
  • 2-5 years of direct experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a similar analytical role.
  • Prior experience in the renewable energy sector (solar, wind, BESS), power, or infrastructure industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling (pivot tables, advanced formulas, macros are a plus).
  • Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for dashboard creation and data visualization is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with CRM (e.g., Salesforce) or ERP systems for data extraction is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection & Analysis:
    • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from various internal and external sources (e.g., project performance, sales pipelines, market reports, financial data, operational metrics).
    • Utilize statistical methods and analytical tools to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that impact business performance.
  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth market research on the renewable energy sector, including solar, wind, and BESS technologies, regulatory changes, and emerging business models.
    • Analyze competitor strategies, market share, and key offerings to identify competitive advantages and potential threats for Sunfan Energy.
    • Provide insights on new market opportunities, potential project sites, and strategic partnerships.
  • Process Improvement & Optimization:
    • Map existing business processes (e.g., project development, EPC, O&M, sales, finance) to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for automation or improvement.
    • Propose and document solutions for process optimization, working closely with functional teams to implement changes.
  • Reporting & Visualization:
    • Develop and maintain various business reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor organizational health and project performance.
    • Present complex analytical findings in a clear, concise, and visually appealing manner to diverse stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Financial & Business Case Support:
    • Assist in the development of financial models, feasibility studies, and business cases for new projects or strategic initiatives (e.g., new technology adoption, market entry strategies).
    • Support the evaluation of potential investments and commercial agreements by providing robust data analysis.
  • Requirements Gathering & Solution Design:
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders across departments (e.g., Business Development, Project Management, Finance, Operations) to gather and document business requirements for new systems, tools, or process changes.
    • Assist in the design and testing of new business solutions.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis & Strategic Support:
    • Undertake ad-hoc analysis to support specific strategic questions or immediate business needs identified by management.
    • Contribute to strategic planning sessions by providing data-backed insights and recommendations.
