Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager – Renewables (EPC Business) will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and securing new EPC contracts for solar and wind power projects. This role requires a strong understanding of the renewable energy EPC market, excellent sales and client relationship management skills, and the ability to articulate Sunfan Energy’s EPC value proposition to potential clients, including project developers, IPPs, and large industrial & commercial entities.

Qualifications:

  1. MBA / PGDM from a reputable institution is mandatory.
  2. B.E / B. Tech in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy).
  3. 2-5 years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or key account management roles, with a demonstrable focus on EPC services within the renewable energy, power, or infrastructure sectors.
  4. Proven track record of identifying and qualifying new business opportunities and contributing to sales closures.
  5. Strong understanding of the EPC business model, project development lifecycle for solar and wind power, and key contract types (e.g., fixed-price, LSTK).
  6. Knowledge of India’s renewable energy market dynamics, competitive landscape for EPC players, and relevant policies/regulations.
  7. Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and negotiation skills.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with diverse stakeholders.
  9. Self-motivated, target-driven, proactive, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  10. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel).
  11. Willingness to travel extensively as required across India.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market & Opportunity Analysis (EPC Focused):
    • Conduct in-depth market research to identify new EPC opportunities in the solar and wind sectors, focusing on potential clients who require third-party construction services.
    • Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes specifically impacting the renewable energy EPC business model.
    • Identify potential project leads (e.g., greenfield development projects, expansion plans) where Sunfan Energy can offer its EPC expertise.
  • Lead Generation & Client Acquisition:
    • Generate high-quality leads for EPC services through active networking, participation in industry events/conferences, cold outreach, and leveraging market intelligence platforms.
    • Initiate first contact and build strong, trusting relationships with key decision-makers at target client organizations (e.g., IPPs, developers, large corporates, utilities).
    • Understand client requirements for EPC services, scope, technical specifications, and budgetary considerations.
  • Value Proposition & Solution Presentation:
    • Articulate Sunfan Energy’s comprehensive EPC capabilities, technical expertise, quality standards, and project delivery track record in both solar and wind.
    • Present tailored EPC solutions and proposals that address specific client needs and project challenges.
    • Highlight Sunfan Energy’s competitive advantages in project execution, cost-efficiency, and adherence to timelines.
  • Proposal & Bid Management Support:
    • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Proposals, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Legal, Finance) to develop compelling and competitive EPC bids and proposals.
    • Ensure all proposals accurately reflect client requirements, technical specifications, commercial terms, and company capabilities.
    • Participate in pre-bid meetings, client clarifications, and technical discussions.
  • Contract Negotiation Support:
    • Support senior management in the negotiation of EPC contracts, terms and conditions, and commercial agreements to ensure favorable outcomes for the company.
    • Understand key contractual clauses and their implications for EPC projects.
  • Relationship Management & Strategic Partnerships:
    • Nurture long-term relationships with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders in the renewable energy ecosystem to ensure repeat business and referrals.
    • Identify potential strategic partnerships with technology providers, land developers, or financing entities to expand EPC opportunities.
  • Reporting & CRM Management:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all business development activities, client interactions, and sales pipeline status in the CRM system.
    • Prepare regular reports on business development progress, market insights, sales forecasts, and achievement against targets.
