Experience :

2-5 Years

CTC :

As per industry standards

Job Summary:

The Wind Project Performance Engineer / PMO Analyst will be a crucial member of the PMO, specifically tasked with planning, monitoring, and driving the performance of wind power projects against established benchmarks for cost, quality, and time. This role requires proactive analysis, robust reporting, and close collaboration with Project Managers to ensure optimal project execution and value delivery for wind farm development.

Qualifications:

  1. B.E / B. Tech in Electrical, Mechanical or Renewable Energy (Electrical Engineering preferred).
  2. 2-5 years of experience in project planning, project controls, or a PMO role within the renewable energy (specifically wind power) or large-scale infrastructure/heavy construction sector.
  3. Demonstrable advanced proficiency in project planning and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) is essential.
  4. Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex project data (cost, schedule, resources) and generate actionable insights.
  5. Solid understanding of project management principles, methodologies (especially Earned Value Management), and the wind project lifecycle, including WTG supply chain and erection.
  6. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, modeling, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrated Project Planning & Baseline Management (Cost, Quality, Time):
    • Collaborate with Wind Project Managers and functional teams to develop detailed, integrated project plans and schedules for wind farm projects (engineering, WTG procurement & logistics, civil works for foundations & roads, electrical collection systems, turbine installation, commissioning).
    • Establish project baselines for schedule, cost, and scope, and rigorously manage any changes through a defined change control process.
    • Assist in detailed resource (specialized manpower, heavy machinery, large component logistics, materials) planning and optimization specific to wind project needs.
  • Performance Monitoring & Driving:
    • Time: Track project progress rigorously against the baseline schedule using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), identify critical path deviations, and propose corrective actions unique to wind farm timelines (e.g., turbine delivery, crane mobilization).
    • Cost: Monitor project expenditures (actuals vs. budget/forecast), track cost variances, and conduct earned value analysis to assess wind project financial performance.
    • Quality: Work with Quality Control teams to track key quality metrics specific to wind farms (e.g., foundation quality, WTG installation tolerances), ensure compliance with standards, and monitor defect resolution rates.
    • Risk: Proactively identify potential risks (schedule, cost, technical, quality, logistics, weather-related) specific to wind projects and support the development of effective mitigation strategies.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    • Collect, validate, and analyze project data from various sources (site reports, financial systems, planning tools, WTG supplier updates).
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive performance dashboards and reports for Wind Project Managers, leadership, and stakeholders.
    • Highlight key performance deviations, trends, and provide actionable recommendations for improving wind project health and accelerating delivery.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for performance shortfalls and contribute to lessons learned.
  • Standardization & Process Adherence:
    • Support the implementation and enforcement of PMO project management processes, templates, and best practices specifically tailored for wind power projects.
    • Ensure consistent application of planning, tracking, and reporting standards across the wind project portfolio.
  • Tools & Systems Management:
    • Administer and maximize the utility of project management software (e.g., Primavera P6 for scheduling, ERP modules for cost tracking) for wind projects.
    • Ensure data integrity and system utilization for accurate performance measurement.
