Job Summary:

The Project Manager – Solar & Wind Hybrid Projects will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of integrated solar and wind hybrid power projects (potentially including BESS). This role requires a comprehensive understanding of project management principles, technical knowledge across multiple renewable technologies, strong leadership in managing diverse teams and contractors, and a commitment to achieving project objectives within defined timelines, budgets, quality, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

1.      Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Renewable Energy Engineering.

2.      2-5 years of progressive experience in project management or project execution roles within the renewable energy sector.

3.      Demonstrable hands-on experience in managing projects involving at least two of the following technologies: utility-scale Solar PV, Wind power (turbines & BOP), or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

4.      Strong understanding of the project lifecycle for renewable energy plants, including development, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

5.      Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) for planning and scheduling.

6.      Solid knowledge of relevant electrical, civil, and mechanical engineering principles applicable to renewable projects.

7.      Familiarity with Indian Electrical Rules (IE Rules), IS Standards, and relevant safety regulations.

8.      Excellent leadership, team management, communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

9.      Ability to manage complex interfaces and drive outcomes in a challenging environment.

10.  PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.

11.  Willingness to travel extensively and relocate temporarily to project sites as required.

Key Responsibilities:

●       Integrated Project Planning & Strategy:
1.      Develop comprehensive and integrated project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies for complex hybrid projects, incorporating solar PV array installation, wind turbine erection, BESS integration, civil works (foundations, roads), and electrical balance of plant (collection systems, substations).
2.      Define project scope, deliverables, and success criteria for multi-technology projects.
3.      Collaborate with engineering, procurement, finance, and legal teams to finalize project baselines.
●       Execution Oversight & Coordination:
1.      Lead and manage all on-site construction and installation activities for both solar and wind components, including civil, mechanical, and electrical works, ensuring seamless integration between technologies.
2.      Oversee the specific activities related to solar PV module installation, inverter commissioning, wind turbine erection, BESS container placement, and associated electrical interconnections.
3.      Ensure all project activities adhere to approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations (HSE).
●       Budget & Cost Control:
1.      Manage overall project budgets for hybrid projects, closely monitoring expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing cost control measures across all work packages.
2.      Approve project-related invoices and financial claims, ensuring alignment with contracts and progress.
●       Schedule Management & Reporting:
1.      Rigorously track project progress against the integrated master schedule, identifying potential delays for any technology component (solar, wind, BESS) and implementing corrective actions.
2.      Prepare and present accurate, detailed project progress reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, risks, and performance against baselines.
●       Quality Assurance & Control:
1.      Implement and enforce stringent quality control procedures for all civil, mechanical, and electrical works across solar, wind, and BESS components.
2.      Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and best practices for each technology.
●       Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Management:
1.      Champion a strong safety culture on site, ensuring strict adherence to company EHS policies and all statutory safety regulations for a diverse project scope (working at heights, heavy lifts, electrical hazards).
2.      Identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation strategies for hybrid site operations.
●       Contractor & Stakeholder Management:
1.      Effectively manage and coordinate multiple EPC contractors, specialized sub-contractors (e.g., WTG erectors, BESS integrators), and material suppliers.
2.      Act as the primary point of contact for project-related communications with clients, local authorities, and utility representatives.
●       Technical Integration & Troubleshooting:
1.      Work closely with Hybrid Design Engineers, BESS Design Engineers, Solar Design Engineers, and Wind Design Engineers to ensure design intent is accurately executed and to resolve technical challenges during construction and commissioning.
2.      Oversee the proper testing and commissioning of all integrated systems.
●       Risk Management:
1.      Proactively identify project risks specific to hybrid integration (e.g., grid curtailment, resource variability, technology interface issues) and develop comprehensive mitigation plans.
