Role Summary:
The BESS Design Engineer will be a pivotal member of our engineering team, focusing on the conceptualization, detailed electrical design, and technical specification of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for integration into new and existing renewable energy power plants. This role demands a strong command over battery technologies, power conversion systems, and advanced control strategies, ensuring that our BESS solutions are efficient, safe, compliant, and optimized for various grid services and project applications.
Qualifications:
- B.E / B. Tech in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- 2-5 years of dedicated experience in the design, engineering, or integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for utility-scale or industrial applications.
- Profound understanding of battery technologies (especially Lithium-Ion), Power Conversion Systems (PCS) operation, and Battery Management Systems (BMS).
- Demonstrable proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) and familiarity with power system analysis and simulation tools (e.g., ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory) for grid integration studies.
- Strong knowledge of relevant Indian electrical codes (IE Rules, CEA Regulations) and international standards (IEEE, UL, NFPA) pertaining to BESS.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and complex problem-solving abilities specific to BESS integration challenges.
- Strong communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills to articulate technical concepts and collaborate effectively.
