Siddaling Gidd, Project Manager :
In my role as Project Manager, I was responsible for overseeing all aspects of ground execution. This required a combination of technical knowledge and hands-on leadership. Our project began from the ground up, starting with the construction of a 2 km access road in an area without preexisting infrastructure. Additionally, I had to diligently manage site logistics throughout the entire process.
One major obstacle we faced was addressing the opposition from the local community, who believed the misconception that wind turbines decrease rainfall. This resulted in a pause in construction for an entire month. To overcome this challenge, we utilized a combination of professional crisis management and consistent communication with the community. By collaborating with local authorities, we opened up discussions with residents, implementing informative campaigns to showcase the positive impact of the project on both the environment and economy. These efforts successfully shifted attitudes, resulting in about 80% of villagers supporting and receiving direct compensation from the project.
The Nippani Project’s successful completion stands as a notable professional accomplishment. It serves as evidence of my ability to deliver renewable energy projects on a large scale, even in difficult conditions. This was made possible through a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and collaborative efforts with the community. The project allowed me to gain valuable experience in handling intricate liaisoning tasks, obtaining ROW clearances, and overseeing the installation of 110 kV and 33 kV lines. As a result, my expertise in this field has been strengthened. This project showcases my ability to lead under intense pressure and execute projects with excellence.
Taking a more detailed examination of the topic, we will now delve into some significant contributions that have been made.
The Nippani project achieved success through the combined efforts of key team members.
Boresh, O&M Engineer:
With my exceptional dedication and skill, I successfully completed the 68.9 MW Wind and Solar Power Project at Nippani. My hands-on involvement in resolving on-site challenges, day or night, demonstrated my commitment to adaptability and delivering projects successfully. Through this project, I gained valuable experience in executing the 110 kV and 33 kV lines, as well as the pooling substation. This has equipped me to bring even more value to future assignments.
